Memorial Sunday, new pix

I slept pretty much the whole day. I watched two French Open matches...good play all around. Went to Sunday evening Mass at Holy Trinity Parish. What a spectacle! Church is huge, their bulletin has like a million pages, their youth choir is awesome, their Communion Ministers are all teenagers, and they have a plasma TV in the center, behind the Altar. The words to the hymns are flashed on the screen, which kind of resembles a PowerPoint presentation. Nothing short of marvelous!

Have you looked at my online photo album yet? It has almost 100 pictures, 7 of which I just uploaded 10 minutes ago. You can now see pictures of my ride and the neighborhood. Click or type in this link. The newer pics are near the end of the album (I think).

Jerry Springer's guests

Finally moved into the apartment and got cable and Internet working. SCORE!!! :-)

Now I know where Jerry Springer gets all his guests. Some pregnant young girl (16 or 17 years old) was walking in front of this much older guy (30s) at our motel. They looked like they knew each other. I bet he's cheating on his wife with this girl. Am I crazy, or do I watch too many talk shows?

Now to answer my backlog of E-mail....

Old town Lenexa

Currently Watching: American Idol Season 4 Finals

Another early day, woke up at 6:30 AM (that's 4:30 AM for you L.A. folks) to pick up the rental car. I got an '05 Chevy Cobalt. It felt weird at first...and it still feels weird. Imagine trying to find McDonald's in this strange place!

Started moving into my new apartment. The place: brown carpet/tile and white walls. Wanna hear something ironic? The cable guy was early, and the furniture people were waaaayyyyy late. Good thing there was a supermarket (Hy-vee) across the street. I met two of my new neighbors, Allen and Tracy, who were really nice.

Driving here is TIRING! You can't speed without getting a ticket. While most cops have a +5 allowance, they're strict in the area known as "Old Town Lenexa" where the limit is 25. Something to look forward to on my weekday morning drives.

Wal-Mart is all over the place, so we went out and bought stuff for the apartment. Hopefully I'll have more energy tomorrow to take pictures of my Cobalt and apartment.

Now watching: the news

First day

Our plane was stalled at Las Vegas for ONE HOUR!!! I must have fallen asleep waiting for our turn to taxi. Three different airlines were scheduled at the same gate AND time, which was kind of funny. It wasn't funny for the 300 passengers crammed into the loading gate.

We got into Kansas City one hour late because of the LV delay. When I entered the airport, I was like, "This is IT??? it's so tiny!" I couldn't help but smile.

We needed some food (badly) upon checking into Motel 6 at 10:00 PM. The M6 guy told us that McDonald's was a short walk through a backyard fence and through a dark grass field. At 10:00 at night? NO WAY JOSE!!! We just ordered pizza and chicken from the local Domino's.

Pictures from our farewell party are available on ShutterFly.com. Here's the link:
